For the past few years, there has not been a fighter rising up in popularity as much as Paddy Pimblett has. He came to the UFC back in September of 2021 and immediately began to win. His fun personality and his flashy fight style have made him a fan favorite. The fact that he continues to win is another factor in his unprecedented rise. Unfortunately, following his last bout, Pimblett suffered an injury that derailed his momentum a bit.
His last fight in the Octagon was against Jared Gordon in December. Following that controversial win, Pimblett needed to undergo surgery on his ankle which would take a long time to recover from. Pimblett was unsure if he would be able to return to the cage at all this year. Now he is giving fans an optimistic update on his recovery.

Pimblett is very active on social media and his YouTube channel. He has been keeping fans up to date on his recovery and a possible return to the UFC. In his latest video, he is given some good news by his doctor as he prepared for his wedding.
Pimblett was given word from his doctor that he would no longer have to wear his ankle brace. He removed the walking boot and threw it right in the recycling bin. Later in the video, he was shown exercising the ankle and putting his weight on it. His coach spoke about his training since injuring the ankle. They have been focused on other movements and since he has been preparing for a wedding, his weight has been low as well.
Although no return date was mentioned, Pimblett did just get married to his longtime girlfriend. Perhaps now that he is back to training, he will proceed quickly. Pimblett has fought four times in the UFC, three times last year alone. If he is looking to get one fight in this year, it would most likely be at the very end of the year, November or December.
