- Nick Diaz will star alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in an upcoming action movie
- The ex-UFC title contender is also eyeing an epic return this year
While a UFC return remains one of his top priorities, Nick Diaz made time for his acting debut. The former Strikeforce and WEC welterweight champion will star alongside Hollywood action star Jean-Claude Van Damme in his latest upcoming movie, “Darkness of Man.”
For those who didn’t know, Diaz has long been a fan of Van Damme. In fact, JCVD has played a massive role in the foundation of Nick’s fighting style and passion for fighting.
Epic fight scene in the works
Nick and Nate Diaz’s friend and co-founder in their CBD brand “Game Up Nutrition” Matt Staudt revealed on Instagram that the UFC star has already begun shooting the film. What’s even more interesting, Staudt also teased that Nick will have a “bada** fight scene” in the movie.
“The movie I was in LA for the last month wrapped yesterday. Get ready for a new, gritty and dark crime story set in LA starring @jcvd and features @nickdiaz209 who killed it. Nick also has a badass fight scene in the film 👊 When it got to rehearsing the fight he took over and of course had better ideas than the film’s stunt coordinator which is what ended up being filmed and looked awesome… Can’t wait to see this movie. Stay tuned for Darkness Of Man,” he wrote.
The film will be directed by James Cullen Bressack and as early as now, it has already earned comparisons to that Van Damme’s classic action movies in the past such as JCVD and The Bouncer.
A better Nick will return
Meanwhile, Nick has also expressed his desire to be one of the best UFC fighters once again. It can be recalled that Diaz was evidently not himself when he lost to Robbie Lawler in their rematch at UFC 266. He previously revealed that he stepped inside the cage against Lawler shaking off a number of injuries but has vowed to come back better and stronger this year with a plan to fight for the title.
Diaz has only fought trice since in the past 10 years but has remained one of the biggest draws in the UFC. He currently has a 26-10-2 record as a pro.
