Nate Diaz and Jake Paul will be tested for drugs and marijuana prior to their fight.
Nate Diaz was not happy to hear that he will be tested for marijuana in his upcoming bout
Over the last several years most drug testing within combat sports has become more relaxed in terms of marijuana. A few years ago that was not the case and a fighter could be suspended if they tested positive for this drug in their competition window. Nate’s brother Nick is one who suffered a suspension for testing positive for marijuana.
Both brothers are not shy about flaunting their marijuana usage on their social media pages. Diaz even lit up a joint with a USADA testing agent. However, now he is not happy with the testing of cannabis for his next bout.

“We will be working with VADA on testing prior to the fight and will be in compliance with all VADA rules, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by TDLR,” Real Fight, Inc. President and Diaz manager Zach Rosenfield told High Times via MMA Mania.
Diaz and his team requested an exemption for his marijuana use leading up to the fight. That exemption has been denied. It is possible that he will succumb to the testing and test positive, which potentially could take away any victory he might have but other than that it could really have no repercussions whatsoever if he chooses not to fight again.
