Belal Muhammad has some insight when it comes to the next welterweight title fight.
Kamaru Usman will meet Leon Edwards in a long-awaited rematch at UFC 278. The two will run it back in Salt Lake City, almost seven years after Usman defeated Edwards by unanimous decision.
Muhammad Sees A Repeat Incoming
While Usman and Edwards have heavily evolved since 2015, Muhammad still believes the rematch won’t be much different than the first fight.
“I think it’s gonna be kinda like the first fight,” Muhammad told Middle Easy. “I think Usman’s gonna be using a lot of wrestling, taking him down a lot. I think it’s going to end up becoming a decision.
“I think it’s going to be a dominant victory for Usman,” he predicted. “I think there’s going to be a lot of wrestling in that fight.”
Muhammad’s Next Fight?
The #5 welterweight contender believes he is one win away from fighting the winner of Usman & Edwards. Muhammad thinks he knows the opponent that will land him the golden opportunity.
Attending the UFC Hall of Fame Red Carpet, Belal Muhammad would continue his campaign to fight Khamzat Chimaev. Muhammad sported a fan-made poster of him vs. Chimaev. The two recently agreed to fight on Twitter, but nothing has been made official just yet.
