Mike Jackson: The CM Punk Guy Will Die At UFC 225 In His Hometown

CM Punk, real name Phil Brooks, remains one of the biggest names in the wrestling industry despite quitting WWE back in January 2014. He decided to crossover into the MMA and signed a multi-fight contract with UFC. He prefers to continue going with the CM punk name that has given him the fame under WWE.

Punk came short in his MMA debut against Mickey Gall via rear naked choke at UFC 203 in 2016 and has not fought since.

Earlier this month it was officially announced that CM Punk will be facing Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago.

Mike Jackson recently appeared on The MMA Hour to discuss his upcoming fight and revealed why he wouldn’t refer to CM Punk as his wrestling name except for his real name.

“His mama call him Phil, I’m gonna call him Phil,” Jackson said On The MMA Hour . “That’s his name — Phil Brooks. The whole CM Punk thing, I guess he’s trying to bring that gimmick over from the professional wrestling.”

“Look, the CM Punk guy, he’s dying June 9 at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago.”

“Vince McMahon could not have written a better storyline,” he added. “The redemption story of CM Punk being ended by ‘The Truth’ at UFC 225.”

Jackson nicknamed ‘The Truth’ made his UFC debut against Mickey Gall and got defeated via first-round submission in February 2016, now looking for his first UFC win when he clashes Punk on June 9.

“The Truth” is planning to change that, as he expects a hostile crowd coming in.

“The main objective here is to build the Mike ‘The Truth’ entertainment brand,” he said. “That’s what we’re here about. So, although I know I’m gonna be walking out to a lot of boos, eventually I want to turn those fans over and bring them to ‘The Truth’ side.”

UFC 225 will headline by middleweight title bout between Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero.

Who do you will come victorious between CM Punk and Mike?
