Even former UFC champions like Michael Bisping get scared sometimes.
Former UFC champion turned UFC commentator Michael Bisping found himself in a hairy situation recently. During his UFC career, Bisping was a trash talker and one of the best middleweights in the organization for a long time. He has always been a fan favorite and seems like a likable guy, however, these facts can’t always be counted on to keep “The Count” out of trouble.
Bisping took to social media to recount a situation he found himself in while training at a gym in Bulgaria. It appears that Bisping was almost assaulted in a gym by a bunch of men.
“I almost got assaulted and beaten up in a Bulgarian gym,” he said. “I’m lifting weights, I’m on a bench. The whole row of dumbbells in front of me is not being used, two guys come up and one of them says, ‘Can I use your weights?’ I say, ‘I’m using these, all the other weights are there, you’ve gotten one or two-kilo increments. You want these ones? There’s loads of others sorry that these are the optimum ones you want, but I’m using these’ and then his buddy goes, ‘I want to use your bench’. I said, ‘five minutes’, and then two other mates show up a bit. Big juiceheads, covered in tattoos and whatnot. You just tell they are all chatting away in Bulgarian and I knew they were talking about me. So I’m trying to be careful I don’t get a dumbbell over the back of my head. I don’t have eyes in the back of my head or eyes in the right side of my head either. So I’m constantly like looking around and I think okay, I’ll go off to a different part of the gym and then they come over there, they follow me over there straight away.”
Luckily nothing physical happened between Bisping and the men. As a former fighter, he would be able to defend himself, but Bisping jokes that he is getting old. He has found himself in the crosshairs of a few different confrontational situations lately. In addition to almost coming to blows with men in the gym, he has been the target of some verbal attacks by Conor McGregor.

Although not mentioned, Bisping could have been in Bulgaria filming a series or movie. Since his fighting days are over he has been featured in several TV series and films. His career as an actor is just beginning to take off but he is still one of the most active former UFC fighters in Hollywood today. Conor McGregor will be making his film debut in a remake of the film RoadHouse and decided to trash-talk Bisping a bit.
McGregor took aim at Bisping’s acting chops saying, “Bisping, member that show you were in. Ye me neither.” Bisping responded but now jokes that he is running from gym meatheads and McGregor himself.
“I’m turning into a proper b-tch in my old age, I’m getting abused by McGregor and then I’m running away from gyms,” he joked
