Matthew Riddle Goes Off On Dana White For Firing Him
Matthew Riddle may be a WWE star today, but he was once fired from the UFC. It is safe to say that he still has some animosity for the way the situation played out.
Riddle competed on the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, with coaches Forrest Griffin and Rampage Jackson. While he did not win the season, he performed well enough to earn a UFC contract. Almost his entire MMA career took place in the UFC, earning a record of 7-3 2NC in the organization.
However, in 2013, Riddle would be released from the UFC, following his second drug test failure for marijuana. His victory over Che Mills was overturned to a No Contest. Subsequently, UFC President Dana White had some had some harsh things to say about him. At the time, Riddle spoke out against what he perceived as hypocrisy, as he was cut for weed, while others got testosterone exemptions.
However it seems that almost seven years later, some of those hard feelings are still there, with Matthew Riddle. In a recent interview, White said that he personally held no ill will, but that the decision was right at the time. Unfortunately, Riddle did not see it that way, as he made clear in an Instagram post.

“Dana I’m not mad that you fired me I’m mad because you’re a heartless moron with to much money and power and felt the need to call me a loser after you fired me when I was on a 4 fight win streak and had my 3rd child almost bankrupting me. Also to say it was the right call to fire me is the dumbest thing ever, you literally tried to ruin my career/life because your a little bald bitch that couldn’t control me, so stop lying it’s sad bro”
It is pretty clear that Riddle is still pretty upset about that situation. Honestly, it is understandable, as he had been doing well in the UFC. At the time, he was almost certainly put in a bad spot.
On the other hand, several years later Matthew Riddle has a successful career as a pro wrestler. So while he may never see eye to eye with Dana White, he has that going for him.
