Masvidal Mural to be Placed on ATT Wall

If Colby Covington was mad at Jorge Masvidal before, he is really going to be salty now. Documented well is the rift between Masvidal and Covington’s friendship. Even more well known is how the pair both train at American Top Team as well as Covington’s allegiance to ATT’s founder Dan Lambert. Covington called Jorge a journeyman who is a .500 level fighter. But now, he’ll always be reminded of Gamebred, as his record-setting KO of Ben Askren became immortalized as a mural at American Top Team.

Masvidal’s rise to stardom has been a long and steady burn. His recent victories have not only earned him major kudos with fans and the UFC, but it has also inspired artists around the world. One artist, in particular, is Ross Baines. Baines will be painting the record-breaking KO of Ben Askren which happened in five seconds at UFC 239.

American Top Team have confirmed the beginning stages of the mural. They have shared Baines hard at work on the piece from their Instagram as well.

Masvidal’s Rise to Stardom

Masvidal is having such a good year, that being immortalized is probably not even the pinnacle of his 2019. In 2019 alone Masvidal has KO’d Darren Till at UFC England along with two performance bonuses in the bout. Also, Masvidal’s KO over Askren will go down in UFC record books as the fastest knockout of all time. Which also earned him a performance bonus for that display as well.

Jorge gets a chance to cap off his 2019 by winning the ‘BMF’ title at UFC 244 against Nate Diaz on November 2nd. Like it or not, the UFC has already confirmed the creation of the ‘BMF’ title and the buzz is so big, that Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson wants to place the belt on Masvidal if he wins.

Breaking UFC records, winning a ‘title’, and being immortalized doesn’t happen for “average” fighters. So, if anyone at ATT has a problem with Jorge Masvidal, you’ll have to look at him every single day. At least for the duration of your time at American Top Team.
