Marlon “Chito” Vera has made quite the claim regarding USADA.
Much has been made about the official anti-doping organization of the UFC. Some have complained about the organization’s random tests invading the privacy of fighters, others have been critical of USADA for its numerous flags for tainted supplements. Some, however, are glad the system is in place to combat illegal performance enhancers.
Marlon Vera Makes Shocking Claim On USADA
Appearing on “Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk,” Marlon Vera made a stunning claim about when USADA operates. He claims the anti-doping agency has a daily window for testing.
“I think there’s a lot of people taking it because it’s so easy to beat USADA,” Vera said. “You need like 20 grand, call a good doctor, boom. A good doctor will give you good products. He will tell you how to clean yourself. USADA only comes 6 a.m. til 6 p.m. I would love if USADA knock on your door at 4 a.m., 10 p.m., 3 [a.m.] randomly because they have this window. I could go to the f*cking mountains in Ecuador and tell them, ‘I’m hunting,’ and I’ll be doing EPO and sh*t. By the time I come back, there’s nothing on me.”

While “Chito” says there are loopholes to the system put in place, he has never considered taking advantage.
“I’d rather die before I cheat, bro,” Vera said.
The fight world awaits what’s next for Vera. UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has said that if it was up to him, he’d make his first title defense against Vera. There is history between the two. Back in 2020, “Chito” defeated “Sugar” via first-round TKO. Up to now, it is the lone defeat in O’Malley’s pro MMA career.
Some have spoken out against Vera potentially getting a title opportunity. “Chito” is currently number six on the official UFC bantamweight rankings.
