Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is laser-focused on constantly improving his grappling and MMA skills. He is now working on his craft under the tutelage of a celebrated grappler and reigning ONE flyweight grappling champion Mikey Musumeci.
Learning the Trade
In a recent post on Instagram, Zuckerberg proudly revealed that he has been training with Musumeci, who is a five-time BJJ champion. In the caption, Zuckerberg also hinted at an MMA debut.
“Great learning from jiu jitsu legend @mikeymusumeci… and starting to prepare for our MMA debuts,” the famous billionaire captioned.
In the short video clip, Zuckerberg could be seen working on his submission and grappling moves. At one point, he even pulled off an armbar on Musumeci. Apart from training on the ground, Zuckerberg and Musumeci also did some pad and heavy bag work.
Falling in love with Martial Arts
Zuckerberg previously opened up about why he chose to pursue martial arts. According to the young CEO, he is competitive by nature and he realized that martial arts is also good for his mental health.
“I’m a competitive person. Doing sports that basically require your full attention, I think is really important to my mental health and the way I just stay focused on doing everything I’m doing. So I decided to get into martial arts and it’s, it’s awesome,” he said.
So far, Zuckerberg has been finding success in the world of combat sports. Last month, he won medals in both GI and No-GI disciplines in his first BJJ tournament competition.
