Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently made a playful return to Twitter after an 11-year hiatus with the launch of his app Threads. This new app is being hailed as a potential rival to Twitter, and Zuckerberg wasted no time in using it as an opportunity to take a friendly jab at his business rival, Elon Musk.

In his first tweet in over a decade, Zuckerberg shared a picture featuring two Spider-Men pointing at each other, without any accompanying caption. This tweet was seen as a clever reference to Threads’ launch, positioning it as a direct competitor to Musk’s Twitter platform.

Threads closely resembles Twitter in terms of visual design, allowing users to post status updates that can be liked, commented on, reposted, and shared. It quickly gained traction, with over 10 million sign-ups within the first few hours of its launch. However, Zuckerberg’s ultimate goal is to achieve a significantly larger user base.

According to Statista, Twitter had around 368 million monthly active users as of December. However, the platform is projected to experience a slight decline of approximately 5% by 2024. With the arrival of Threads, the competition between these social media giants is set to intensify in the coming years.

In addition to the Twitter rivalry, there has been speculation about a potential cage fight between Zuckerberg and Musk. UFC president Dana White has shown interest in making the fight happen, despite his previous reluctance to host “gimmick fights” in the promotion. The discussions have gained momentum, with Musk even training alongside UFC legend Georges St-Pierre.

As the playful exchanges and rumors continue, the online community eagerly follows the rivalry between these influential figures, curious to see what the future holds and if their paths will intersect in a more physical way.
