We are at an odd time in pro wrestling. We’re still a PPV away from Summer Slam, we know pretty much know what the main event is for SS, we know the main event for Battleground the next PPV, so we are kind of in a holding pattern. So while the title scene is fairly blah at the moment, other guys have to pick up the slack and boy did they ever.
Orton and Ambrose had one of the best matches you’ll ever see on TV. Ambrose works so well as a pro wrestler because everything he does, fits his character. Every single thing, the way he talks, the way he walks, the way he moves in the ring, everything fits Dean Ambrose and it matters. Seeing his offense which is less pro wrestling and more chaotic bar fight is such a joy. Also, Randy Orton has been around for so long that he’s just boring and it’s no fault of his own. When you’re around for so long, even if you’re super talented it’s hard to get people to care, but man. Sometimes you forgot how well he can go in the ring, giving him a fresh match up like Ambrose proved that ten fold.
Man they are really pushing this Roman Reigns guy, eh? DAMMIT NO DON’T LET HIM RAISE CENA’S HAND, SPEAR THE MAN GOD DAMMIT!
I love Damien Sandow is amazing. I never want him to stop doing what he’s doing. Okay that’s a lie, I’d like to see him stop eventually but each week he tops himself. The conviction he plays with each role is priceless, how he or anything interacting with him doesn’t lose their mind laughing is beyond me. Damien Sandhart for life.
I’m really intrigued to see where Paige/AJ is headed, hopefully creative as something special in store for them.
Goldust and Stardust AKA Dusty Rhodes are just better than you. Their chemistry together is unreal and they play off of each other without a second of hesitation. Yes, more of them.
I’m not the only one who’s been disappointed with Jericho/Wyatt on the mic so far in this feud can I? Whatever, I’m sure they’ll tear the house down in their Battlegrounds match.
So now that my streaming of consciousness is over, listen to our good friend Aubrey Sitterson from the Straight Shoot give his thoughts on RAW.
