Kevin Holland might not be a superhero, but he sure does stop some crime.

Holland Halted Another Crime

In an unexpected event, an armed individual would fire one shot inside a restaurant named ‘RA Sushi’, according to the Houston Police Department. The sushi restaurant had 40-50 customers at the time and the UFC Welterweight happened to be there.

Holland and his friend Patrick Robinson (who also trains MMA) would apprehend the active shooter on Monday night, at around 11:30pm. Another customer helped them restrain the individual as well. Thanks to them, nobody got hurt at the scene. Police arrived shortly afterwards to arrest the suspect.

Testimony

Robinson would speak on the situation.

“Next thing you know, you just hear a ‘pop’ and then everybody started getting down,” Robinson told Houston’s NBC-2 TV station. “Everybody started getting down. Next thing you know, me and my buddy, we ran to the shooter, got him down, strangled him, took the gun from him, and then called the police. Police came and got him.”

Holland Posts About It

Unlike his friend Robinson, Holland declined to be interview by the local news station. Instead, he’d record two short videos of the crime scene for his Instagram story. ‘Trailblazer’ also revealed he was drunk while subduing the shooter.

“He’s ok,” Holland said of the arrested suspect. “In the great words of Derrick Lewis, he’s ok.”

Holland Says He Is ‘Super Blessed’

Following the incident, Holland would later state how thankful he was for his life.

“I laugh a lot even when things aren’t funny,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “I smile when I should frown. Super blessed and thankful to see today. Kiss ya kids, hug ya family and treat random people with care. You never know what a mfer may be going through.”

This isn’t the first time the UFC star has stopped a crime. Holland halted a car thief from stealing a vehicle last year.
