Even before he steps inside the Octagon at UFC 287, Jorge Masvidal already made headlines after he engaged in two separate altercations with UFC middleweight Kevin Holland in Miami. Nobody had an idea about why the pair came to blows but according to “Trailblazer,” it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Nothing serious

Speaking to The Schmo, Holland said he has a feeling that the root of it goes way back to his last visit to Florida when he faced Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. He doesn’t know exactly why Masvidal was too emotional right off the bat but it was just how the cookie crumbled.

“I guess a while back when I fought in Florida. I was fighting Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. Somehow, someway, somebody said I was going to this event to cause problems. I was really just going to the event to see, not a teammate, but a honey I was talking to at the time, one of her teammates fight and just really chill with her since she couldn’t make it to my dinner. Somehow, someway it turned out to be a whole other story. I don’t really give a f*ck,” Holland began.

He continued, “Now all of the sudden the dude [Masvidal] is in his feelings, so when I seen him I said ‘what’s up baby girl’. Next, he started PMSing himself. I don’t really think it’s that special of a story to keep under the rug, maybe they’re just trying to use it for another time.”

Both need a win

Like Masvidal, Holland is in Miami hoping to end his losing streak. Holland is set to face Santiago Ponzinibbio in a welterweight showdown, while “Gamebred” will take on his fellow 170-pound top contender Gilbert Burns in the co-main event.

It is unlikely for Masvidal and Holland to meet inside the Octagon soon but from the looks of it, the two has already made quite a storyline for their potential UFC rivalry.
