- Kazakhstan’s Teymur Zhaparov had a dangerous fall while attempting to stand on top of the cage during his post-win celebration at Octagon 41
- “General” has already won eight fights in a row
Kazakh MMA fighter Teymur Zhaparov took a scary fall after he slipped off the top of the cage while celebrating his latest victory at Octagon 41. Fortunately, Zhaparov appears to be in good spirits afterward.
It was slippery
Everything played out in favor of Zhaparov in his fight against Zhakhongir Nazhmedinov on Sunday at an Octagon League show in Almaty, Kazakhstan except for his attempt to stand and probably pull off a cartwheel off the top of the cage.
Zhaparov managed to secure a unanimous decision win over Nazhmedinov but his post-fight celebration was, safe to say, an epic fail. The 30-year-old wasn’t able to perform whatever it was he was thinking about as he slipped and abruptly fell down hard outside the cage.
Fans in attendance were shocked and worried for a second but felt instant relief as soon as “General” got back to his feet.

An incredible winning streak
On a more serious note, the win over Nazhmedinov saw Zhaparov improving his already impressive winning streak to eight victories in a row. Prior to this, “General” also secured a split decision win over Amirkhon Atakhanov at Octagon 37.
Zhaparov has never tasted defeat since 2021. He won three of his last eight victories via finish and now has a pro-MMA record of 11-3-1.
