Jon Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, has recently divulged his selection of the five most prominent UFC fighters of all time. Next month, Jones will make his return to the octagon at UFC 285, with the aim of earning the now-vacant heavyweight championship title. The highly-anticipated bout will take place in Las Vegas, where he will face off against Ciryl Gane, the former UFC interim heavyweight champion.

There’s no denying that Jon “Bones” Jones is an absolute beast in the octagon. His fans have widely touted him as one of the greatest fighters to ever step foot in the cage, and it’s hard to argue with them. This 35-year-old brawler has absolutely dominated just about every opponent he’s ever faced. In fact, if it weren’t for an illegal elbow disqualification early on in his UFC career, Jones would be sitting pretty with an undefeated record.

But Jones isn’t content to rest on his laurels. In 2020, he made the bold decision to vacate his light heavyweight championship and set his sights on capturing the heavyweight crown. And really, who can blame him? Jones left the 205-pound division with a slew of records under his belt, including most title defenses, most wins, and longest winning streak.

Make no mistake about it, folks. When Jon Jones steps into the octagon, you’re in for a real show.

Jon Jones Includes Brazilian Legends Aldo & Silva in His List of Top UFC Fighters of All Time

During a recent interview with RMC Sport, Jon Jones was tasked with naming his top five UFC fighters of all time. As expected, the 35-year-old MMA fighter placed himself at the top of the list, ranking above other legendary fighters such as Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva.

“My top 5? Let’s see here. If I’m allowed, I would say myself, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jose Aldo. Those are my favorites atleast.”

Despite engaging in some heated debates in the past regarding Khabib Nurmagomedov’s legacy, Jon Jones has now softened his stance and believes that the Russian fighter deserves to be among the top fighters in UFC history. Jones acknowledged that Nurmagomedov’s sudden retirement has placed a slight blemish on his case for the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) title. Nonetheless, Jones recognized Nurmagomedov’s undeniable skills and achievements in the octagon, which he believes warrant a spot near the top of the list.

Jon Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest UFC fighters ever, having defeated numerous legendary fighters during his previous reign as the light heavyweight champion. If he were to win the heavyweight title, it would only solidify his legacy and cement his place among the all-time greats of the sport.
