British Muay Thai sensation Jonathan Haggerty left the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok with not one, but two ONE world championships at ONE Fight Night 16 on Prime Video.

Once again emanating from Thailand’s iconic Mecca of Muay Thai, Haggerty stepped into the main event spotlight reigning as the promotion’s current bantamweight champion in the art of eight limbs. Meeting him in the middle of the ring was current ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade. The two striking sensations squared off to crown a new bantamweight kickboxing king.

Andrade entered the bout undefeated in his ONE Championship career, scoring six straight wins with an 83% finish rate. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, those stats couldn’t hold up to the incredible speed and power of Haggerty who put his pedal to the metal right out of the gate. ‘The General’ picked apart Andrade from the get-go as ‘Wonder Boy’ quickly revealed his plan to march forward and attack the lead led of Haggerty.

That proved to be disastrous for Andrade who found himself on wobbly legs following a well-timed head kick from Haggerty in the second round. Circling away and simply trying to survive, Haggerty turned up the heat and delivered an onslaught of strikes that eventually sent ‘Wonder Boy’ crashing to the canvas.

Andrade was unable to get back to his feet before the referee’s eight-count, forcing the stoppage with little over a minute left in the second round.

Official Result: Jonathan Haggerty def. Fabricio Andrade via KO (head kick and follow-up strikes) at 1:57 of Round 2 to capture the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship.

For his efforts, Jonathan Haggerty left The Land of Smiles with not one, but two $50,000 performance bonuses courtesy of ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong. ‘The General’ also expressed interest in challenging Andrade once again, this time for the ONE bantamweight MMA world title.

If Haggerty gets his wish, he could become the first person in ONE history to hold world titles in three different sports simultaneously.
