Jon Jones recently hit the mat with one of female wrestling’s youngest rising stars, Kennedy Blades. Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, having ruled the 205-pound division for quite some time. However, Jones is currently preparing for his debut in the UFC’s heavyweight division, chasing a second division title.

As he prepares, “Bones” looks to be having some fun on the wrestling mats where he got his start in combat sports. Young female wrestling star Kennedy Blades recently took to her Instagram and posted a video of herself and Jones on the mat playfully wrestling with one another.

During the scramble, both Jones and Blades exchange top position, scrambling for quite a bit in good fun before Blades playfully raises Jones’ hand in victory at the end. Check it out here below:

Blades is one of the most promising prospects in female wrestling according to the USA Wrestling Membership. At 19-years-old, Blades is ranked No. 2 at 68kg and is a 2021 Junior World Championships gold medalist. She also finished second in the US 2020 Olympic teams trials at just 17-years-old.

As mentioned, Jones is currently preparing to make his heavyweight debut inside the UFC’s Octagon in a big way. He’ll face off against Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 285. If Jones wins, he’ll join an exclusive club of fighters who have been able to capture titles in different weight divisions.

Jones hasn’t fought since February of 2020 when he successfully defended his then-205-pound championship against Dominick Reyes. Since, Jones and the UFC have been at odds over contract negotiations in regards to his heavyweight jump. However, those issues seem to be behind them, as an agreement is now in place to have Jones headline the March 4 card.
