Johnny Walker is brimming with confidence ahead of his next fight against Magomed Ankalaev. As early as now, the Brazilian could already see himself becoming Alex Pereira’s potential UFC 300 opponent.

Johnny is eyeing Alex at UFC 300

Speaking to The Schmo, Walker made it clear to everybody that he just have to deal with Ankalaev in their rematch at UFC Vegas 84 and after that, he could probably make his case to become Pereira’s title challenger at UFC 300.

“Maybe me,” Walker said of who should Pereira face at UFC 300. “I just have to beat Ankalaev first. Whatever it takes, I’ll be ready.”

Johnny wants to go for a finish

Walker is also optimistic about securing a finish and not let the fight go the distance. But more importantly, Walker believes that the winner should get a title shot.

“100% percent [the winner should get the title shot]. I have some business to deal with him [Ankalaev] because the last fight was not how I expected it to be,” Walker said. “I feel him already. I feel everything. And I have some very big surprise for him.”

“I don’t think I’m going to need five rounds if I need [to], I have it, but I’m going to finish it as soon as I can… It’s coming, my victory,” he added.

Determined to make Magomed pay

In their first match, Walker initially suffered a stoppage loss early in the fight. However the fight was later ruled No Contest due to Ankalaev’s illegal knee. For Walker, beating Ankalaev in the rematch will serve as his punishment.

“Your knee doesn’t go in somebody’s face unintentional. So, I’m going to get him,” Walker said. “I have to make this guy pay because if you don’t make him pay for his mistakes, for this negligence on the rules, he is going to keep going with this sh*t… I’m gonna make him pay.”

Barring the No Contest with Ankalaev, Walker has been on a three-fight winning streak. Though it’s too early say, it seems like a win at UFC Vegas 84 could really catapult him to title contention.
