Conor McGregor’s Coach John Kavanagh Talks Return Of Former Champ

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has tons going on, between whiskey sales, and exhibition boxing. However, according to his coach John Kavanagh, a UFC return could be imminent.

Kavanagh went on The Late Late Show in Ireland, to discuss his relationship with the superstar. It was here, that he hinted at what many people have speculated has been plauging McGregor;a lack of motivation. (via Express)

“he won the world titles, he broke every meaningful record in the UFC, he made enough money to retire a few times over. Training MMA for fitness or recreation is fun, but training for professional fighting is very tough. it’s very tough on the body. You’re losing all the desire to do those things because it’s either about winning titles or making money. he done those, so what was going to keep motivating him?”

Kavanagh went on to express a strain on his relationship with McGregor. Although not outright stated, he mentions McGregor training in Miami, and he having just returned. Kavanagh then mentions his plans to talk to Conor soon.

“I had a small amateur show on Friday night and [Conor] showed up. I didn’t even know he was going to be there. he showed up and that was the first time I’d seen him in a while. There had been a couple of texts exchanged back and forth and I’m hoping to sit down next week and see what the plan is”

Kavanagh continued by clearing the air of any current strain on their relationship.

“Things are good with Conor and I and we’ll get something figured out soon.”

John Kavanagh seems to think “it could even be the summer” when we see the return of Conor McGregor. What do you think?
