John Kavanagh shared a hilarious reaction to Brendan Loughnane posting a video of him training with Conor McGregor.
In November 2022, Loughnane secured a life-changing fourth-round knockout win against Bubba Jenkins to become the PFL featherweight champion and take home the $1 million prize.
Loughnane looked to repeat his success in 2023 before an upset loss to Jesus Pinedo forced him out of the playoffs. As a result, the English striker plans to evolve in the offseason to come back stronger in 2024.
The 33-year-old recently spent some time in Ireland training at SBG Ireland, where John Kavanagh is the head coach.
Loughnane shared a video on Twitter of him working with the gym’s biggest superstar, Conor McGregor, and added the following caption:
“Comeback season”
John Kavanagh responded with a short video of a classic scene from a movie called “Step Brothers.” In the short clip, Will Ferrell and John C. Reily have the following exchange:
“Did we just become best friends? Yep”

Brendan Loughnane says he and Conor McGregor plan to bounce back in 2024
Brendan Loughnane isn’t the only fighter looking to bounce back in 2024.
Conor McGregor hasn’t fought since suffering a severe leg injury against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. ‘The Notorious’ attempted to return to the UFC in late 2023, but he wasn’t approved by USADA, pushing his comeback fight to 2024.
Loughnane shared a photo on Instagram of him with McGregor after they trained together. He captioned the social media post with the following message:
“We coming back in a big way ☘️”
It’s unclear when Conor McGregor will fight again, but he does have an opponent.
Earlier this year, McGregor clashed with Michael Chandler while coaching against each other on The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. The UFC superstars are expected to meet in the Octagon during the first half of 2024.
There have recently been rumors about McGregor vs. Chandler headlining UFC 300, which will likely take place in April 2024. Although nothing has been confirmed by the UFC, most parties seem interested, including McGregor, Chandler, and the fans.
Only time will tell when ‘The Notorious’ returns to the Octagon and if he can emerge victorious.
