Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan renewed his podcasting deal with Spotify for a whopping $250,000 million. However, there is one caveat  — his uber-popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, will no longer be exclusive to the platform.

In 2020, Spotify became the exclusive home for Rogan’s podcast in a $100 million deal. Since then, Rogan has come under fire multiple times for his edgy and sometimes infuriating content and his selection of contentious guests. But none of that stopped his show from dominating the podcasting charts from the moment it first landed online in 2009.

Up until recently, Rogan maintained the No. 1 spot on the Spotify charts.

Spotify Sees Its Shares Rise Following Joe Rogan Announcement

After announcing the deal — which was first reported by The Wall Street Journal — Spotify revealed that Rogan’s podcast will be available on Apple, Amazon, and YouTube, though they did not comment further regarding the deal’s terms. The news had an immediate positive impact as shares of the audio streaming giant rose roughly 1.5% on Friday.

The deal is described as a “multi-year” partnership between the pair, but no other details were disclosed.

“I think podcasting is an art form and I definitely sucked at it when I first started,” Rogan said in an interview with Spotify. “I was curious, but I didn’t understand how to make a conversation flow. I didn’t know when to shut up and listen, and I didn’t know how to make someone comfortable so that you can get the most out of their perspective.

“I’ve learned how to assist the conversation’s flow instead of waiting for my turn to talk. I learned how to be fully locked in with what the other person is saying.

“A lot of what helps is that I’ve done it for so many hours and learned how to do it better over trial and error, but also that I only have people on the show that I’m genuinely interested in talking to. I never do a podcast just because a person is popular. It’s always from a place of ‘I think it would be cool to talk to that person.'”
