Joanna Hopes Kamaru Usman Will Beat Up Colby Covington

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is riding high after her big win over Michelle Waterson at UFC Tampa. Winning is not the only aspect of Joanna that seems to have returned to form. It also looks like her supreme confidence to say whatever she feels once again has validation. After Joanna beat Waterson, she thanked a plethora of people in her American Top Team camp. And, while ATT is a tight-knit group, Joanna has no love for “teammate” Colby Covington.

Jedrzejczyk was a guest on the world-famous Ariel Helwani MMA Show. On the show, she made her feelings for Covington known. The rift between Covington and ATT has been well documented. Distain rose to a new level once Colby made his feelings for Jorge Masvidal and the BMF title known to the public. Although the men were previously friends. While asked about the matchup between Colby and champion Kamaru Usman, Joanna didn’t hold back on her opinions.

Joanna Sounds Off On Colby Covington

It seemed like Joanna originally didn’t want to engage in the bashing of Covington. At the end of the day, he’s still a member of the gym and she respects the structure of the American Top Team as an organization.

“I wish that Usman will beat his a**,” said Joanna. “I shouldn’t say this because you always should support your people, but Colby is not a friend, he’s just acting weird. He’s an ugly guy,” she continued. “You never talk bad about your teammates, doesn’t matter if you like them or not.”

Covington faces Kamaru Usman at UFC 245 for the Welterweight championship of the world. So it must not feel good that his own teammates rather see him lose than to bring a title to back to the gym. However, the ATT fighters are well within reason as Colby initiated the rifts in the gym with Dustin Poirier and Jorge Masvidal.

Explaining Colby’s ‘Fake’ Persona

Joanna’s reasoning for her comments stems from her belief that his persona is fake. She referenced his promotional videos, IG posts, and frequent appearances with models around.

“He’s acting like he’s Conor McGregor,” said Joanna. “Trying to show on the video that people open the door for him, that he’s driving fancy cars,” Jedrzejczyk said. “He’s in show guys, he’s in (the show) He’s a hard worker. I don’t buy it.”

UFC 245

With UFC 245 rapidly approaching, it’ll be interesting to see who is in the corner for Covington as he prepares for his title fight. With most of American Top Team against him, this fight will prove who supports Colby and who doesn’t.
