Jamahal Hill has sent a message to former UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira.

After Pereira suffered a second-round KO loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 to lose his middleweight title, he announced he would be moving up to light heavyweight. He thinks he will have success at 205lbs after not having a tough weight cut

“My next fight will be in 205. Yeah, you heard right. I think I did my work in 185 and now I’m feeling good to go up to 205,” Pereira said on his YouTube channel. “Like I told you, when I’m feeling good, I will go up, this will be something natural and now I think it is. My next opponent, I can’t tell you yet, but I will keep you updated here on my (YouTube) channel… But now it’s the moment for me to go to the next division. This will be better for me.”

After making the announcement, many light heavyweights called out Pereira to welcome him to the division. Along with that, the current champ in Jamahal Hill took to Instagram to send a message to the Brazilian now that he is a light heavyweight.

Pereira tells Hill he’s coming

“Welcome can’t wait to see you @alexpoatanpereira #excited #letsgo #yourking #cantwait #realhands #champion #war #mytime,” the caption read with the song being saying ‘welcome to my house.’

Alex Pereira did see Jamahal Hill’s video and responded to his Instagram post.

“I am coming and will kick your door in,” Pereira wrote.

As of right now, it’s uncertain when and who Alex Pereira will fight in his light heavyweight debut. But, he is a big addition to the division and the champ has an interest in facing him next time out. But, it does seem likely that Pereira will need to get at least one win before he faces Jamahal Hill for the belt, but the Brazilian is confident he will get to the belt rather quickly.
