Chael Sonnen believes Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva was the best boxing match that he had ever seen.

This past Saturday, internet sensation turned boxer Paul took on legendary mixed martial artist Silva in the headlining bout at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Paul put in an impressive performance and pulled off a hard-fought win after going the distance by unanimous decision. Following the biggest win of his career, Paul faced heat from some fans who accused him of rigging the bout.

Chael Sonnen says Jake Paul v Anderson Silva was the best boxing match he has ever seen

In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen shared his thoughts on Jake Paul’s win over the former UFC middleweight champion.

“I got a lot of thoughts on the boxing match. I spoke with Chris Camozzi, and this irritated him so much, I said, ‘Chris, it was the best boxing match I’ve ever seen.’ As a professional standup fighter, it was annoying, but hear me out. I got boxing as my second sport. I don’t wanna be hard on it, but I’m just sharing with you, it’s painfully dull.”

“When I say it was the best fight I’ve ever seen, I was into it bell to bell. My texts were going off, I’ve got friends that were into it. I’m on the edge of my seat.” (h/t MMA News)

Sonnen wanted to see another round

‘The Bad Guy’ was so thrilled by the contest that he would have liked to see it go longer than the scheduled eight rounds.

“We must give Paul credit for everything. I loved it. Not only the drama, not only old vs. young and the storylines; it was eight rounds. When this fight was over, for the first time in my life of watching a boxing match… I wanted to see another round. I can’t say that about another fight.”

Paul extended his unbeaten run to six as a professional boxer. He is yet to indicate whom he would like to face in his next outing.
