Jake Ellenberger obliterates Jake Shields with knees and fists

Props to Jake for even fighting tonight. The loss of a parent is a devastating time and it takes a lot to move past that and focus on something as consuming as a pro fight, especially with Jake’s father being as prominent a figure in his life in fighting as he was. Sadly for Jake and his family a happier story couldn’t come out of tonight; it took only fifty three seconds for Jake Ellenberger to finish Jake Shields at UFC Live 25.

From the opening bell, Ellenberger overpowered Shields, tossing him to the mat after a brief clinch. Shields popped right back up though and pressed forward into a heavy Ellenberger hook. They separate and then meet again, after another quick tie up Ellenberger works into a clinch and blasts Jake with a powerful knee, crumpling the former Strikeforce champ and finishing him off with rapid strikes to the head. The ref stops in to stop the fight and an impromptu grappling match ensues.

Grats to Jake Ellenberger, who using MMA math could in theory bring Fedor to a decision? IFL never die!
