The Beef Between Jon Jones And Israel Adesanya Continues
Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, and Interim Middleweight champ Israel Adesanya have been going back and forth for a while now. Earlier this week, the beef escalated again.
Jon Jones defended his title against Thiago Santos, at UFC 239 over the weekend. Although it was widely expected that Jones would walk over Santos, he barely won a close split decision. Even with Santos injured, Jones was unable to finish the fight.
Israel Adesanya has his own thoughts for why this could be happening. The interim champ has been beefing with Jones for a while, and took this opportunity to throw some shade in his direction. He spoke with Ariel Helwani about his suspicions surrounding Jones’s lackluster performance.
“I saw him live, i seen him. he doesn’t have it. He was great when he was fighting and there wasn’t USADA around, but now, the man needs to get back on the pictograms if he wants to be great again.”
However, Jones was quick to respond, taking to Twitter to shut down Adesanaya.
Style bender was asked a question about me and the first thing he could think of was my cakes at weigh ins 😩. Then went on to talk about how I’m built like a dorito with chopsticks. No comment needed.

It sure does seem that Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones are eventually going to fight each other. Yet, if there is one thing that MMA has taught us, it’s to not count our chickens before they hatch. Adesanya has his hands full, with his upcoming bout to unify his Middleweight title, against Robert Whitaker.
