Israel “The Last Sylebender” Adesanya had one of the most memorable UFC debuts in recent memory. He truly lived up to the hype, defeated Australia’s Rob Wilkinson via second-round highlight-reel knockout at UFC 221 in Perth and earned ‘Performance of the Night’ honors.
Adesanya, 28, now 12-0 in his MMA career. After the victory, he issued a warning to the 185-pound division.
Adesanya has already been booked for his second Octagon appearance, as ‘Last Stylebender’ will fight Italian Marvin Vettori at UFC on Fox 29 on April 15. The promotion officially confirmed the contest on Friday.
Vettori, aka ‘The Italian Dream,’ who has gone 2-1-1 in his four appearances with UFC, beating the likes of Vitor Miranda and Alberto Uda. Moreover, Vettori seemingly called out Israel Adesanya following the interview on social media despite mistaking him for an Australian.
There's an Australian bum loud mouth, he thinks he is battle tested. I would love to give him his first loss#theitaliandream
