  • “The Future” thinks he could now face “Tarzan”

Ian Garry believes he now has a better chance of fighting Sean Strickland after what happened at UFC 297.

Ian wants Sean

Garry tuned in on UFC 297 just to see Strickland lose via a close decision to Du Plessis. While watching the fight, “The Future” already knew “Tarzan” was about to lose his middleweight title. After hearing the official results, Garry celebrated and expressed his interest to face Strickland sooner rather than later.

“I hope Sean gets sparked unconscious. There is no way I would have ever bet against Du Plessis losing this fight considering he mauled Robert Whittaker, and Sean Strickland isn’t half the fighter Robert Whittaker is,” Garry said.

“Just sloppy boxing. Swinging. Look at this. The f**king state of this. Zero technique, just slugging it out… I feel like I’m watching two amateurs fight. Oh my dear Jesus Christ! If I ever have a fight like that, please tell me to retire.”

“F**k you, Sean Strickland!” he yelled after Du Plessis was declared as the winner and new middleweight champ. “Now that fight’s even more available.”

The beef is far from over

From the look of it, it’s safe to say Garry and Strickland’s feud is far from over. It can be recalled that “Tarzan” insulted “The Future” and his wife by making foul comments about the couple. As expected, Garry hit back by lashing out at Strickland over his childhood trauma.

As it stands, Garry is set to take on Geoff Neal at UFC 298. It is yet to be known what’s next for Strickland but as it turns out, “The Future” has already made his pitch.
