Holly Holm (11-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) is a former UFC champion and she will be looking to get a chance to challenge Cris Cyborg again for the belt if she wins this one. Known for spectacular knockout over Ronda Rousey, Holly is one of the most strikers in the female UFC. Megan Anderson (8-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is a former Featherweight Invicta FC champion who has a UFC debut tonight, an awesome Australian fighter, she is 183 cm tall! A great fight and tough fight is expected!
Round 1
Holly is very cautious and moves around, Anderson is a lot taller than her. Holly with a great body punch and body kick. Anderson lands elbows and knees to the body but Holm clinches up and takes her against the cage. Good elbow by Holm. Knee to the thigh by Holm. Holm has placed her arms into over-under position, can she go for a takedown attempt?
It looks like Anderson pushes her hand towards Holm’s face… good knees by both fighters. Great technical fight but it becomes boring and the crowd starts to boo, the referee isn’t warning them! Anderson stuck against the cage! Great knees to the hip and Anderson escapes.
Takedown!
Holly Holm clinches up again but Anderson escapes. What an uppercut by Anderson and a great front kick to the face by Holly Holm, who grabs the opponent’s leg, but Anderson counters her… both fighters on the ground, Holm on the top with side control.
Holm cannot pass the guard, excellent defense by Anderson, she tries to grab Holly’s leg but the fight ends. Few good punches from Holm in the dying seconds of the round.
Round 2
What a showdown, what is next? Megan’s corner orders to escape from clinching, will she do it?
Good right punch by Holm. What a weaving overhand right by Holm and Anderson misses with a high kick. Holm grabs Anderson’s leg again and pushes her against the cage, good defense by Megan! Holm continues to land knees and punches, again Anderson’s hand in Holly’s eyes, what is the ref doing here?
Anderson escapes and Holm backs down. Good right side kick to the body by Holm. Holm again with a great right but no damage to Anderson. Holly Holm eats a knee and takes her down, she goes to side control again! Good elbows to the right thigh, this hurts.
What A Ground And Pound!
Holm is very close to mount her opponent, but sweeps to side mount and continues landing strikes. Anderson takes her arm trying Kimura but nothing happens. Holm’s punches are doing big damage here. Holm is in full mount this is dangerous!
Anderson defends arm-triangle choke successfully. What a hook by Holm! Anderson panics, Holm lands big strikes from the top! Shoulder and elbow strikes by Holm, Anderson doesn’t move much, Anderson’s back is stuck on the floor, Holm lands a lot of elbows. Anderson saved by the bell, will she have a chance to recover in the third?
Round 3
It looks like Anderson’s corner is very angry! Anderson is very cautious and receives left kick to the body, but returns with a right low kick. Anderson rocks Holm with a great right cross, Holm tries for a single leg and pushes her against the cage again!
Anderson can’t escape, this becomes bad for her, she receives more and more knees to the thigh, it will affect her movement. Holm does few left hooks off the clinch, and takes her opponent down again!
Insane Decision!
Holm was waiting for the moment and sweeps to full mount again, Anderson is in big trouble again! She continues to land strikes, has a chance for armbar, but decides to punish her opponent with the elbows. Holm stands up on her own!
Holly Holm pushes Megan Anderson again with push kicks, and good clinch by Holm, who takes Anderson down for the fourth time! Holm again in the side mount, attacking that thigh again! Holm moves towards opponent’s hand, her back is static again, Holm with a full mount and a huge set of ground and pound punches and elbows. Anderson rotates to her right side, and Holm goes to the north-south and has a chance for an armbar or a guillotine choke.
Anderson On Top!
Anderson rotates her and she is on the top of Holm, but unfortunately, the fight ends. Probably a victory to Holm!
Holly Holm wins by unanimous decision – 30-27, 30-26, 30-26
