Hardy Believes He Can Knockout Volkov

Greg Hardy is taking a notable step up in competition when he faces Alexander Volkov at UFC Moscow. Hardy accepted the short-notice fight shortly after his recent controversial bout that ended in a no contest. And, while inhaler gate caused an uproar with the fans, it hasn’t wavered Hardy’s confidence. In fact, he believes that he has the ability to knockout Volkov.

Hardy recently spoke with TMZ about his fast turnaround. He explained why he decided to take the fight on such short notice. The “Prince of War” explained how amazing the UFC has treated him in spite of his criminal past, So, taking the fight and being a company man is the least that Hardy can do.

Hardy Speaks on The Quick Turnaround

“There were a lot of things that played into the decision,” said Hardy. “The big one was just the opportunity. This is a big-time fight. It’s a high-level competition. This is what any prince of war or any future king of war could hope for.” ended Hardy.

Greg mentioned how Junior Dos Santos is his teammate. Due to seeing his teammate fall, he decided to step up because he believes in the “next man up” mentality. Hardy probably picked up on that mindset during his time spent in the NFL. It’s also presumably why he appreciates the atmosphere the UFC provides him.

Hardy Throws Shade At Derrick Lewis

“The UFC always has my back. ”They took a gamble on me, you know what I mean? They let me in the door. So if they need somebody to fill in, then for sure, I’m about to go knock the guy out,” said Hardy. “And the last one, soft Derrick Lewis knocked this dude out. If ‘pillow hands’ Lewis can do it, for sure I feel like I can go in there and compete and knock this guy out. And he’s a monster, too.”

UFC Moscow

It’ll be intriguing to see what happens in the aftermath of UFC Moscow. If Hardy delivers on his commitment to KO Volkov, it’ll more than likely set up a high profile matchup with Derrick Lewis. Lewis has stated in the past that he would love a chance to beat up on Hardy.

We’ll have to wait for UFC Moscow on November 9th to see how this plays out.
