The UFC Austin co-headliner is here.
It might not be the five-round scrap we asked for, but three rounds will do as Bobby Green faces Jalin Turner. Turner steps in on just a week’s notice to replace an injured Dan Hooker.
‘King’ Green reigned supreme in his most-recent fight, where he destroyed Grant Dawson inside a minute. That’d mark two wins in a row with Green submitting Tony Ferguson at UFC 291. He’ll look to go for three straight wins when he meets ‘The Tarantula’.
Turner has seen better days in the UFC. The 6’3 lightweight has dropped his last two bouts against ranked contenders Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker. Turner was riding a 5-fight win streak until then. He’ll try to regain his momentum in The Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
Round 1:
Green and Turner trade strikes in the pocket. Green lands a right hand. Turner misses on a left, but hits Green with a right. Turner goes up high with a headkick. Turner keeps at it with another headkick. Green is dazed on the feet after a combo from Turner. Turner tops it off by quickly dropping Green with a right hand. This is the beginning of the end for the now grounded Green as Turner hammers away with countless strikes. With his face down to the canvas, Green is out cold with the referee saving him from more follow-up punches.
Official result: Jalin Turner defeats Bobby Green by TKO (punches) in round 1 (2:49)
