Michael Bisping has very high hopes for Tom Aspinall.
Another British UFC Champion was crowned at UFC 295 with Aspinall utterly destroying Sergei Pavlovich in a little more than a minute to win interim gold.
UFC Gold Will Have The Aspinall’s ‘Going To The Moon’
While an undisputed title fight with Jon Jones has yet to take place, Bisping believes the future is more than bright for the 30 year-old out of Liverpool.
“If you’re a British MMA fan, if you’re Tom Aspinall’s wife, it’s time to get excited because you’re fucking going to the moon,” Bisping told True Geordie. “Get looking at houses. Get picking out the cars. Get picking out your favorite handbags because it’s all f*cking coming.”
Money, Money, Money
Much more than handbags are on the way for Aspinall should he keep winning in his UFC title run. Bisping believes Aspinall could have an upwards of $50M in his bank account when his career is all said and done.
“I text him and I said, listen, mate. I don’t know if if you’ve realized this. This was after the fight on Sunday, which he never responded to, by the way, prick. But, this is how humble he is. I said to him, you’re gonna go on some crazy win streak. You’re gonna get pay per view points on every single fight, you probably, because you never know what’s gonna happen, probably gonna go down as the greatest heavyweight fighter that the UFC has ever seen, and when it’s all said and done, you’re gonna retire with an astronomical amount of money in your bank account.
“You’re from the northwest of England, you’re from very, very humble roots. But have you allowed [yourself] to think that you’re gonna fucking have 30, 40, God knows, maybe 50,000,000 in the bank one day? He’s like, ‘I’m not thinking about any of that’. I said, well, you might wanna start doing it, mate. You might wanna just lie there on a Sunday morning, have your coffee, and go, oh, uh, let’s have a look what we might be able to buy. Because ‘it’s not for the money, and we all wanna test ourselves’… Go f*ck yourself. It’s for the money. That’s why we do it.
“He deserves it all, and I could not be happier for the guy,” Bisping added.
The former UFC Middleweight Champion predicts Tom Aspinall’s skills will pay the bills inside the Octagon and pave the way for a legacy an all-time great should have.
“I think Tom’s gonna defend that belt for a long time, even after the Jon Jones fight. I think he will go down as the greatest mixed martial artist that England or Britain’s ever produced,” Bisping said of Aspinall.
