Interim gold is on the line.
With the champ Jon Jones out due to injury, the heavyweight division will move on with another big fight. Top contenders Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall cross paths in a five-round championship bout on just a few weeks notice.
The UFC 295 co-headliner goes down from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Round 1:
Aspinal lands a leg kick. Pavlovich unloads power punches on Aspinall which get his attention. Aspinall rocks Pavlovich with a right hand over the top. Aspinall goes for the shot again, this time sending the Russian down to the canvas. Aspinall follows it up with massive ground and pound shots before the referee steps in to stop the fight.
Tom Aspinall is an interim champion.
Official result: Tom Aspinall defeats Sergei Pavlovich by TKO in round 1 (1:09)
