Get the popcorn ready, UFC is coming to your nearest theater…in 3D

Does anyone remember when I broke down what it would be like to watch an MMA event in the tenth dimension and no one even cared? Well needless to say, that won’t happen again. I will keep my spatial/temporal opinions to myself this time. There’s no need to share my beliefs on added dimensions when all you guys probably want to know is who the chick in the banner is. Damn your hormones, just…damn them. Her name is Nicole Linder and she is no longer selling her 3D glass dress on the internet due to the massive amounts of spam she received about it. There, now take a cold shower.

According to Variety Magazine, the UFC has signed a contract with Cinedigm to offer UFC events that will be shown in movie theaters in illustrious 3D. Here’s a snippet from the Variety article.

Cinedigm has pacted with Ultimate Fighting Championship to bring four UFC events a year to theaters in live 3D.

Initial event in the series, set for Feb. 4, will mark the first 3D pay-per-view for UFC.

The card has not yet been determined.

February’s event will be shown in 120 theaters in the U.S. — a good starting point for the series, Cinedigm chairman-CEO Chris McGurk told Variety. “The important thing is to fill up those theaters, and I don’t think that’s going to be a problem,” he said.

I will devote every waking minute of my life to defeat King Zarkon. That’s a statement I would make if my first name began with ‘Voltron’ and ended with ‘Defender of the Universe.’ If I was in 3D, that statement would be changed to ‘I will devote every waking minute of my life to defeat King Zarkon — in 3D.’ [Source]
