Anderson Silva has been teaching his son, Kalyl, the ins and outs of the fight game.

MMA fans know “The Spider” for being one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Silva still holds the record for the most successful consecutive UFC middleweight title defenses in the promotion’s history. He was recently inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

While Silva still likes to compete today in the world of boxing, he’s passing down wisdom to the next generation. Of course, that includes Kalyl.

New footage (via The MMA Focus) recently surfaced of Anderson Silva and Kalyl Silva having a sparring session outdoors. You can certainly take note of some of the tendencies Kalyl has picked up from his father.

Kalyl has dabbled into the world of kickboxing and boxing. On the red carpet of the UFC Hall of Fame, Kalyl told reporters that he’s solely focused on boxing at this time due to his love for the sport (via MMAJunkie).

“Right now I’m 2-0 in professional boxing,” Kalyl told MMA Junkie and other reporters on the red carpet before his father’s induction ceremony. “I’m really, really, extremely focused on that. I have great coaches. I have great plans ahead. For now, it’s just boxing. I’m extremely focused on boxing. It’s a very endearing and hard sport. Also, I’m dedicating 100 percent of my time toward that.”

“… I love boxing. My brother does boxing, as well, so I kind of grew up with him, watching him box, as well. I love the art. It’s amazing. I love the discipline of martial arts in general. I started with amateur kickboxing, but I went professional as a boxer.”
