Filipino Eugene Toquero fights at One: Spirit of Champions, his hair and sub defense combo is A+++

One: Spirit of Champions is next week in Pasay City, Philippines. On the undercard local flyweight hero Eugene Toquero and his famous haircut take on China’s Wu Ze. Toquero is looking to rebound from an unanimous decision loss back in October at One Championship: Tigers of Asia.

Despite suffering a loss, Toquero gained a cult following after the event due to his constant flipping of his hair during the fight and his ability to escape some crazy submission attempts. What came first Toquero’s lush black locks or his ability to twist his body like a 1980s claymation Saturday morning cartoon? If Toquero shaved his head he’d likely get subbed at an astounding clip.

You just can’t armbar or guillotine choke someone who always washes, rinses, and repeats. Touch Toquero’s fluff head piece and improve your own submission defense tenfold.
