- MMA fans think Rose Namajunas lost to Manon Fiorot because her coach did not corner her
- “The Beast” said “Thug” is not ready for flyweight
Rose Namajunas is making headlines for all the wrong reasons following her flyweight debut at UFC Paris. Apart from losing to Manon Fiorot, “Thug” is also talked-about on the internet as the MMA community speculates on the issue of her coach’s absence.
Rose didn’t have Trevor in her Corner
For those who did not notice it, Namajunas came in at UFC Paris without her longtime coach and Grudge Training Center founder Trevor Wittman on her corner against Fiorot. Wittman and former UFC heavyweight Pat Barry used to lead Namajunas’ training camp back when she was still one of the biggest draws in the strawweight division. With that in mind, fans assumed that Wittman’s absence resulted in “Thug’s” defeat to Fiorot.
The update was reported by MMA journalist Aaron Bronsteter on Twitter.

Check out what some of the fans had to say about the subject in the comment section:
“Pat Berry is single-handedly destroying her career.”
“The intro said something about a new and improved gym.”
“I don’t think they are together anymore.”
“Why am I not surprised. Wasn’t it Barry who was the driving force behind the gameplan for the Esparza fight? Wonder if the decision to move up to 125 was hers or a “coaching decision”
Rose isn’t fit for flyweight
After the bout, Fiorot said Namajunas did not even hurt her. For “The Beast,” Namajunas could not handle the flyweight division.
“I think she still lacks a little power in this category. After that, I don’t know what she’s going to do… but I thinks [flyweight] is not the category [for her],” Fiorot said of Rose.
As it stands, Namajunas has now lost back-to-back fights. With a devastating debut at flyweight, it is yet to be known whether “Thug” would go back to strawweight or the UFC would match her up against another flyweight opponent.
I feel like Pat Berry cornered that fight like a spouse, and not her coach. Maybe that’s where you allow Trevor to take over. #UFC274
