Manon Fiorot Decisions Rose Namajunas, Spoils Flyweight Debut – UFC Paris Results (Highlights)

Two-time UFC Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas makes the move up to flyweight after losing her title to Carla Esparza last year. ‘Thug’ takes on top contender Manon Fiorot in her divisional debut. 

France’s Fiorot is unbeaten in her UFC career, with six straight wins inside the Octagon. She’ll look to make a case for a title shot with a win over the former champ.

Round 1:

Namajunas fires leg kicks. Fiorot lands a great hook. Fiorot clips Namajunas with the jab. Namajunas attempts a takedown from a distance but Fiorot denies it with ease. Fiorot throws a headkick. Namajunas and Fiorot trade strikes on the feet, but Namajunas’ hand looks compromised as the commentators point out. Namajunas tries to grab the leg of Fiorot for a potential takedown but isn’t unable to get it.

Round 2:

Fiorot throws hooks in the pocket. Namajunas eats shots to the body and to the head from Fiorot.  Namajunas lands a leg kick. Namajunas throws a headkick and then a spinning backkick but neither lands. Namajunas hits Fiorot which knocks her off balance for a moment. 

Namajunas and Fiorot’s heads collide as they enter the clinch with Fiorot leaving the exchange with the side of the face covered in blood. The rest of the round remains on the feet.

Round 3:

Namajunas goes for another takedown but Fiorot stuffs it once again. Namajunas pours on the pressure against Fiorot, taking a much more aggressive approach. Fiorot lands a good headkick.

Official result: Manon Fiorot defeats Rose Namajunas via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
