Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum claims that former heavyweight king of the boxing world Mike Tyson punched him and almost broke his nose.
Werdum participated in the filming of the movie “Kickboxer: Retaliation” and one of the scenes was recorded with former boxing champion Mike Tyson aka ‘Iron Mike.’ What could go wrong?
“It’s amazing. Mike Tyson punched my nose, too, an accident, but he punched me and almost he broke my nose,” Werdum told TMZ Sports. “Because I’m an actor, he’s no actor too, but he’s good, he’s a funny guy, he’s a very nice guy, but he punch very hard.”
“It almost knocked down me, but it’s good,” Werdum said. “I feel good because it’s Mike Tyson, no other guy. Maybe other guy, I don’t feel good if they punch my face, but Mike Tyson’s OK.”
The reporter then asked if Werdum had considered getting revenge by hitting the legendary heavyweight boxer, but the thought of a takedown did cross his mind.
“No, no, no,” Werdum said. “Maybe I take down him.”
Luckily, Mike Tyson’s punch wasn’t severe enough to force Werdum out of his upcoming bout at UFC London.
The Brazilian is one of the most fearsome grapplers ever to grace the UFC, with 11 career submissions to his name, returns to the Octagon on Saturday at UFC-London, where he will do the main event fight against Alexander Volkov in search of the third consecutive victory.
