Drew Dober stepped inside the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC 288 looking to score his fourth-straight win as he squared off with division DWCS alumni Matt Frevola. Dober entered the bout having knocked out his last three opponents, Terrance McKinney, Rafael Alves, and ‘King’ Bobby Green. Not to be outdone, Frevola went into their featured preliminary clash having earned back-to-back first-round finishes against Genaro Valdéz and Ottman Azaitar.
Round 1
Frevola comes out firing a kick to the body. Frevola throws a right, followed by another body kick, and then delivers another solid right. Dober responds with a solid left and Frevola goes back to the body once again with a kick. Knee to the body of Dober as the two fighters briefly clinch. Dober rips to the body of Frevola as he starts to bleed from his nose. Calf kick from Frevola and Dober lands a left.
Straight left from Dober lands. Both men throw big with Frevola landing a glancing head kick. Solid superman punch from Frevola snaps back Dober’s head. Dober responds with a kick to the body. Dober lands to the body, but Frevola lands a massive right hand that drops Dober. Frevola follows his man to the ground dropping bombs on the ground forcing Herb Dean to step in and call for the stoppage.
