As an unapologetic die-hard Israel Adesanya supporter, Drake knew exactly who to bet on at UFC 293. Unsurprisingly, the famous rapper placed another whopping amount of wager on “The Last Stylebender” to defend his UFC middleweight belt against Sean Strickland.
Drake slaps $500K on Izzy
On Instagram, Drake boasted his UFC 293 bet on Adesanya. In it, the figures show that the Canadian artist slapped a $500K wager on the reigning champ. Oddsmakers have seen Izzy as the favorite over Strickland and based on Drake’s bet, his $500K could see him getting back a staggering $920,000 in winnings should Adesanya end up beating “Tarzan.”
Drake’s post later earned a fitting comment from Adesanya himself.
“Dialed in‼️,” Izzy wrote on the comment section.
Looking to pick up where he left off
It can be recalled that Drake raked in a total of $1,840,000 in winnings after betting on Adesanya to edge Alex Pereira at UFC 287 last April. From the look of his recent wager, Drake is evidently looking to pick up where he left off and cash-in once again off of an Adesanya victory.
Drake has proven that the once so-called “Drake Curse” wasn’t true but it remains to be known if he could keep it up and stay on a roll.
Adesanya and Strickland already had their final face-off before fight night and as expected, both fighters zealously engaged in a heated back-and-forth in front of the crowd.
Izzy is coming in looking to defend his 185-pound strap for the first time once again after reclaiming it from Pereira. On the other hand, Strickland will try and become the new middleweight champion and prove to people that he could walk the talk.
