Legendary rapper Drake looks to silence the doubters with a massive wager on the Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou boxing match.
In 2021, Canadian rapper and singer Aubrey Graham, also known as Drake, began gambling on a popular website called Stake. A year later, the 37-year-old partnered with the online casino and sportsbook to publicize his millions of dollars in wagers on social media.
Since then, the influential public figure has been ridiculed by sports fans for allegedly being bad luck, leading to “The Drake Curse.” Nonetheless, Graham has generated significant attention to Stake, making the partnership valuable to all parties.
The Canadian rapper recently revealed he wagered $615,000, with a $1,906,500 payout, on Francis Ngannou to defeat Anthony Joshua in a boxing match later today. He shared the bet slip on Instagram with the following caption:
“Betting on a scary man @stake”

Drake receives mixed reactions after betting on Francis Ngannou over Anthony Joshua
Many fans have questioned whether Drake is legitimately wagering millions of dollars, or if Stake is giving him funds to promote the website. As a result, the legendary rapper has limited the comments on his bet slips Instagram posts, potentially preventing any further suspicion.
With that said, the 37-year-old’s post on his Francis Ngannou wager still received mixed reactions in the Instagram comment section:
“Ahhh man I don’t know about this one 😩”
“Ngannou got this in the bag 💯”
“Unlimited Jam & Bread”
“💰💰💰”
“See how u do it bam 💥 flip that then sign me then boom 🤯 u getta huge ROI Then Bam Life’s Suddenly 🌊 Again 😂 Bdas #Stake”
In October 2023, Francis Ngannou transitioned from MMA to professional boxing for a ten-round match against Tyson. Not many people gave him a chance to defeat Fury.
Yet, the former UFC heavyweight champion silenced the doubters by knocking down the WBC heavyweight champion and barely losing by split decision.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua’s fighting career was thrown off the tracks due to back-to-back losses against Oleksandr Usyk. Joshua has bounced back with three consecutive wins, including a fifth-round TKO win against Otto Wallin last time out.
Only time will tell which heavyweight boxer can take a significant step toward earning an undisputed title shot.
