Douglas Lima’s KO over Ben Saunders is Walk-Off KO of the Year worthy

Earlier this year I found myself sitting at a table with Douglas Lima in a casino buffet somewhere in Thackerville, Oklahoma. I’m not quite sure how I ended up there, but I was in town for Bellator 86 and it seemed like the appropriate thing to do. I also met Daniel Cormier’s cousin that night — he served me rice-free stir fry at some knock-off Panda Express restaurant. He gave me the ‘fighter’s discount’ because he was a fan of the site, which essentially meant that I received my meal for free. If Daniel Cormier’s cousin’s employer is reading this, then he did not give me the ‘fighter’s discount.’ It was all made up by myself.

That night, Douglas Lima told me a lot of things, but the most important thing he said was that he will never lose again in the Bellator cage after his unanimous decision loss against Ben Askren in April of last year. Thus far, Douglas Lima is absolutely correct, and tonight at Bellator 100, he delivered a Cro Cop-like high-kick KO directly to Ben Saunders head and then pulled off something that will undoubtedly earn him a nomination for walk-off KO of the year.
