Douglas Lima Puts Michael Page To Sleep To Advance To Welterweight Grand Prix Finals!

Bellator 221 is going down live from inside Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois tonight (Saturday, May 11, 2019).

A Welterweight Grand Prix semifinal shares the spotlight in the co-main event of the evening, as the undefeated kickboxer Michael “Venom” Page (blue gloves) takes on a former two-time 170-pound champion and BJJ black belt “Phenom” Douglas Lima (red gloves).

Page has a reach and height advantage. The third man in the Octagon is Mike Beltran. The war begins!

Round 1

Page goes forward but Lima moves like a cat and evades strikes. Page tries to kick to the left knee, but Lima continues moving well.

Lima throws a kick to the thigh, Page circles. Page’s hands are down low, not much action.

Great takedown Lima at 2:05 of the first round!

Lima comes over the top, landing elbows off the full guard. And another big elbow lands. Page is fighting for wrist control on the bottom, but no success this time. Beltran warns both fighters to stay busy. Not much action. I think 10-9 Lima.

Round 2

Page hurts Lima badly with that right hand. But no, Lima counters with a fabulous right hand and KO’s Michael Page! It’s all over.

Lima threw few brutal strikes at defeated Paige before Mike Beltran stepped in and waved off the bout!!! The whole hall is chanting Lima’s name!!!
