After dropping his last bout to Rafael Fiziev, former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos returned to action against Bryan Barberena at UFC Orlando.

Round 1

RDA eats a low kick. Barberena comes out with high pressure, making good use of his kicks to keep RDA away. RDA blitzes in with a straight and gets out. RDA shoots for a takedown and takes Barberena against the fence. RDA with an inside trip to get him down. RDA takes half guard. RDA is going for an arm triangle. Barberena in serious trouble here. RDA pushes on and is trying to move his leg. He lets go of some pressure and gets mount but doesn’t change the arm triangle setup. RDA is trying to get his legs to the side to lock in all the pressure. Barberena gets out from the submission. RDA stays on top in half guard. RDA gets the mount. Barberena turns to the side and RDA gets the hooks in from the back. Barberena escapes. RDA with high grappling pressure off the fence. Barberena tries to get up but RDA gets him on the ground again.

Round 2

Barberena opens with two kicks to the guard of RDA. He moves forward with a 1-2 and RDA gets him to grapple. Barberena gets the under hook and pushes RDA against the cage. RDA gets out and goes for the takedown. He gets Barberena against the cage. Barberena tries to get up and gets tripped down. He gets back to his feet while RDA keeps him against the fence and gets him down again. Barberena gets up again. RDA takes him down again and gets half guard. RDA moves to the side position. Barberena pushes him off and RDA gets back on top in Barberena’s full guard. RDA gets out and gets him in half guard. RDA gets his back in the exchange and locks in a rear-naked choke on his face. RDA pulled him down with a big squeeze and gets the tap.

Official Result: Rafael dos Anjos defeats Bryan Barberena via rear-naked choke submission (R2, 3:20).
