18-months removed from his last appearance inside the Octagon, former light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes returned at UFC 281, eager to get his first win since 2019.

Standing in his way was Ryan ‘Superman’ Spann, an alumn of Dana White’s Contender Series who has seen his own share of struggles inside the cage as of late. Entering the UFC in 2018, Spann scored four straight victories but has since alternated wins and losses, defeating Sam Alvey, Misha Cirkunov, and Ion Cutelaba while dropping fights to Johnny Walker and Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith in the process.

 Round 1

Reyes and Snapp came out sizing up one another and gauging distance. Spann clipped Reyes with a right hand that threw Reyes off balance. Swarming in, Spann teased a standing guillotine, but quickly let it go. Reyes moves in and eats a straight jab from Spann that knocks him out cold. The referee immediately jumps in, calling for the stoppage just over a minute into the contest.

Official Result: Ryan Spann defeats Dominick Reyes via KO (strikes) at 1:20 of Round 1
