Diego Sanchez Vows To Finish Demian Maia With Some Dirty Sanchez Wrestling In A Potential Fight

Diego Sanchez Plans To Finish Former Title Contender If UFC Book Their Fight

Former title contender Demain Maia and Diego Sanchez who’re coming off a big win expressed a mutual interest in fighting each other next.

The season 1 winner of TUF reality series contender Sanchez called out Maia following his second round TKO win over Mickey Gall at UFC 235 earlier this month.

The 41-year old BJJ ace Maia just snapped a three-fight losing skid realizes his time in the Octagon is near to end so why not to go for some fun fights before hanging his gloves for good.

”I have a lot of respect for Diego [Sanchez], he is a warrior, and like I said on my Twitter, you can never underestimate experience,” Maia told MMA Fighting. “I really thought it was nice to see him go against the odds and get the win [against Mickey Gall]. It’s not easy to be competing at a high level for so long, it’s a tough game, and he deserves a lot of recognition. So, I would be honored to compete against him, after all the history we both have in the sport. Why not?

Diego has a very good ground game, often underrated, is experienced, tough, has a lot of heart and has a great pace. I wouldn’t underestimate him at all, and I think it would be fun, with a lot of interesting scrambles. He is an offensive fighter, so he wouldn’t just try to avoid grappling at any costs, so it would be fun to watch, for sure.”

Sanchez acknowledged Maia’s response and took to social media stating he’d finish Maia in a potential bout.

Although nothing is official as of yet, however, if this bout comes to fruition it’s going to be one hell of a fight.

Who wants to see Maia vs. Sanchez throwdown next?
