If I was a vampire and I heard that Blade was going to be using new weapons on me, I would expect something that not only destroyed both of my arms along with my head, but could also be thrown like a boomerang so that Blade could effortlessly catch it behind his back while all of my vampire buddies burned to a crisp around me. However if I was Mark Munoz and I heard that Demian Maia was going to be using new weapons on me I wouldn’t have a clue what to expect, considering Maia already has the tools to last 5 rounds with Anderson Silva. Fortunately I do not have to face new weapons created at the hands of either Whistler or Maia. While it would be incredible to include an interview with Abraham Whistler, the best I can do is present this Tatame.com interview with Demian Maia where he talks about having new weapons as well as breaking down his fight with Munoz:
With me, he’ll only have two options: or he’ll want to strike, or, in case he wants to take me down, he’ll use his ground and pound game, like he always does. I can’t possibly know what he’ll decide to do, it’s up to him. I have to train and be prepared for anything.
I have some new weapons, and I hope I can use it on the bout.
The most frightening thing about fighting Demian Maia is probably the prospect that he may have worked on his kicks with Steven Segal.
