BKFC President David Feldman admits that UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou is on his radar.

Ngannou has entered the champion’s clause portion of his UFC deal. With that said, “The Predator” has been at odds with the promotion and is prepared to sit on the sidelines until either the UFC makes a satisfactory offer or the contract expires.

Francis Ngannou In BKFC?

Appearing as a guest on The MMA Hour, Feldman said that if Francis Ngannou enters free agency, then BKFC will be making a call (h/t BJPenn.com).

“We might be able to get two other free agents that are coming up, probably announce in the next day or two. They are still under contract or we would announce it right now, I don’t want to mess them up. Pretty big names but we are going after the biggest name (Ngannou) so we will see what happens there. The biggest name in free agency. I’m not sure if he’s out of the window yet but we are definitely going to make a play for him. I mean, at that stage, you are talking about money, if we can back that kind of money up, we are in the game. I don’t think we are out of the game for anything, to be honest with you.”

Ngannou last competed in January. He went one-on-one with Ciryl Gane in a title unification bout. “The Predator” won the title fight via unanimous decision.

It’s clear that Ngannou hasn’t been happy with the UFC. His beef boils down to being labeled an independent contractor despite being restricted in how he can make money. Low fighter pay is also a key reason.
